EP Mode is inspired by the typography work of Neville Brody (specifically FF Blur, a quintessential font of the 90s). It was created by taking Open Sans Extra Bold and distorting it to soften the edges and give it a completely different feel.
It reminded us a bit of how subtitles on older TVs would glow, blurring the edges of the text. So, we named it EP Mode, after “extended play” VHS tapes.
